My Bark Avenue Academy - Dog Obedience School
Beginner 101 - Basic level obedience ( 10 weeks )
This class is a ten week course for all breeds of dogs and puppies. Puppies can start as young as ten weeks old. A dog is never too young or too old to learn how to listen to their pack leader. This is a basic course where you will learn how to teach your dog to Heel, Sit, Stay, Stand, Down and Come. By the end of this sourse your dog will be able to Sit and Stay for one minute, Down and Stay for three minutes loose in the room with other dogs only feet away. Your dog will also learn how to Heel beside you and Sit when you stop as well as Come when called a distance of approx ten feet loose in a room filled with other dogs and owners.
Equiptment needed: Please do not buy a new collar or leash. Instead bring whatever you are using to the first class. Once I see what you have I can advise you if you need something different or not.
(I will have leashes and collars for sale at class if you need them)
Intermediate 202 ( 10 weeks )
This is a ten week course for dogs who have already completed a “Basic Obedience” course with either myself or some other school or a home trained dog that can do a one minute Sit Stay, three minute Down Stay and a ten foot Recall of leash with distractions. If your dog cannot do these things consistently in a room loose with other dogs then you are not ready for this class and you should come to the “Basic Obedience” level to strengthen the training your dog already has. Intermediate 202 will use silent commands, teach basic agility skills, start to work off lead and strengthen the bond between you and your dog.
Refresher Course ( only 4 weeks )
The refresher is a very short course designed to work on andstrengthen your obedience skills for those not wanting a lenghty Int or Rally O class. This is a four week course for dogs who have already completed a “Basic Obedience” course with either myself or some other school or a home trained dog that can do a one minute Sit Stay, three minute Down Stay and a ten foot Recall of leash with distractions.
Adv/Agility Course ( 10 weeks )
The Advnced/Agility is for dogs that already know some silent commands and have started some Agility work. By the end of this class your dog will have worked on most of the regulation agiltiy equipment including weave poles, walk and the teeter totter.
Handling Class - for those wanting to show in Conformation shows ( 8 weeks )
This five week course is for breeders and owners who want to or are currently shwoing in Conformation shows. You will learn how to Stack your dog, get to know and understand your breed standard, how to show off your dogs best assets and hide faults. Show the bite, learn the ring patterns, dress to show your dog off to it’s best and understand the point system for both Canadaand the U.S. I am a breeder of Miniature Bull Terriers and have not only handled my own dogs to their championships but have personally bred over thirty Canadian, USA and International Champions. Over the past fifteen years I have also taught many students who have gone on to be top handlers and junior handlers themselves.
Rally-O ( 8 weeks )
This is a eight week course designed to introduce you to the up and coming fun dog sport of “Rally-O Obedience”. This class is taught by Mirian Jean who activiely competed in Rally-O. Rally-O is a fun, relaxed obedience that uses praise and encouragement while working your dog through a series of flags. This is a fast moving motivational activity that demonstrates a handler and dog’s competetncy in Basic Obedience exercises without requiring exact precision. Dogs that do Rally-O events should demonstrate willingness and enjoyment.
Beginner 101 - $225.00 for 10 weeks
Intermediate 202 - $225.00 for 10 weeks
Advanced/Agility - $225.00 for 10 weeks
Refresher - $100.00 for 4 weeks
Rally-O Basics - $180.00 for 8 weeks
Handling - $180.00 for 8 weeks
For any second class you attend there is a 10% discount, 20% if this is your 3rd class or more
